Editing
As I begin my editing for my final piece I realise that due to not filming all in one day - the footage will be all over the place as many things still need to be added. The blue boxes on premier pro are the video footage that has been edited and is in the correct place. The pink boxes are just text on a black screen, I have done this so it helps me when I come to putting all of my footage in here and editing. The boxes say what footage needs to go where, so instead of trying to find a place that fits and where it goes I have pre planned making life a lot easier for me.
This is what Premier Pro looks like and this is where all of my footage is edited and out together. I find this form of editing really helpful and easy to get a grasp of relatively quickly. The top right box is where my footage is show once edited and on the timeline, the bottom left box is the timeline. This is where I place all of my footage I have cut and either edit it further or place is where it needs to be.
This is the bottom left box, where I import all of my footage I have recorded overall. This is where the footage is in its purest form, nothing is edited its simply from where I started and finished recording on the camera. From my file where the footage is held I will grab it and place everything in here, I then can double click on whichever one I desire and begin editing it. Once double clicked it will appear in the top left box, where I can decided the input and output of the piece and begin placing it on the timeline.
One thing I stumbled across in Premier Pro and found extremely helpful Was the warp stabilizer.
Once the warp stabilizer is placed on a segment of footage, it makes the whole thing seem much smoother. Instead of the odd shake or twitch of the camera here and there it completely discards them and looks as if it is filmed on a tripod without the hassle of carrying a tripod around!

Due to many pieces of footage being filmed without a tripod, some were shaky because I don't have the steadiest of hands! The main reason for me filming bits and bobs without the help of a tripod was that I wouldn't have been able to get the shots I needed. Up an old digger getting footage would have proved difficult holding a gigantic tripod along with the camera.

Polaroids
Whilst filming I decided to take a handful of Polaroids as it links in with the theme of retro/90's and also is a good memory to keep. They helped me when it came to looking back at them and reminded me of the theme and style of video I am trying to shoot and marries up perfectly with my research of Polaroids and VHS cameras. It also fits in with rave culture and that everyone is love, many raves are al about peace love and unity and treat everyone as one family.

You are shooting Mon, Tue, Wed next week. No audio.
ReplyDeleteYou are shooting using DSLR and , after consulting SpringboardTV, 50fps... therefore you have a higher recording speed... Molly will be set to film , recording at 50fps , LED lights on top of a car park in King's Lynn. Practice camera settings tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteYou talked in detail about your editing process and the problems you faced and your solutions; to improve on this maybe include more about how you filmed your piece and any problems that you faced whilst filming. In your final piece is good and you can clearly see how your research and planning has influenced the piece but the video which is linked has many pieces of footage and audio missing. The piece has some really good shots and lighting but some areas do feel a bit repetitive and this could be improved by maybe changing or rearranging some shots.
